Job Description and Responsibilities
This is a permanent position based in Etobicoke, Ontario, within a factory or plant environment engaged in food processing sanitation activities. The role involves sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing hallways, floors, and stairs to maintain cleanliness. Operators will use industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and waste. Additional duties include emptying trash containers, conducting safety and security inspections, and performing routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repair. The worker will make minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems and will call professional tradespersons for major repairs. Handling heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies is also part of this role. Work is completed with minimal supervision.
Work Conditions and Physical Demands
- Exposure to odors and hot conditions is expected.
- Work involves repetitive tasks and physically demanding activities including bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Handling and lifting weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience ranging from 1 to less than 7 months is required.
- No formal education, degrees, certificates, or diplomas are necessary to apply.

Work Hours and Employment Terms
- Work hours vary between 32 to 40 hours weekly.
