Float Courier Driver

Role Overview

We seek a reliable courier driver to provide temporary cover for planned and unplanned absences within our courier team. The Essex Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust operates 10 courier rounds across East Sussex, ensuring important deliveries and collections between healthcare facilities. The rounds follow fixed schedules, typically lasting 8 hours a day with a 30-minute break. Start times vary from as early as 6:00 AM to 11:30 AM, finishing between 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM.

Applicants must have flexible availability to cover various rounds with advance notice usually provided, though occasional short-term schedule adjustments may occur.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves safe and timely driving, collecting, and delivering items critical to healthcare services, maintaining communication with the team, and adhering to Trust policies and procedures.

Candidate Profile

Successful candidates will possess extensive driving experience, a clean driving licence, and strong knowledge of East Sussex geography. Experience with vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes is essential. Candidates should demonstrate initiative and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
