Finance Business Partner

Role overview

T&G Global is looking for a Commercial Finance Business Partner in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. This position sits at the centre of commercial decision-making and works directly with leaders across Sales, Category, Operations and Finance to interpret performance, test assumptions and support decisions across a major fresh produce business.

In this role, you will take ownership of the NZ Grower Pools finance activity, including performance analysis, complex reconciliations, forecasting and insight generation that influence decisions for the business and grower partners in New Zealand and international markets.

What makes this opportunity unique

The Finance function is in the middle of a transformation through the S/4HANA programme. Many forecasting, reconciliation and reporting activities currently depend on advanced Excel models and manual preparation, but these will gradually move into a more automated and integrated ERP environment.

The business is seeking someone who looks for better ways of working, is curious about technology, and wants to help redesign finance processes rather than simply carry them forward. This is a chance to leave the function stronger than you found it.

Key accountabilities

• Work closely with commercial leaders to provide clear financial insight across Sales, Category and the NZ Grower Pools.
• Create monthly forecasts and reporting that enable stronger commercial decisions.
• Review pricing, costs, margins and market performance to spot risks and opportunities.
• Perform accurate reconciliations across complex financial information.
• Build financial models and scenario analysis to help leaders assess trade-offs before deciding.
• Assist with planning, forecasting and month-end reporting activities.
• Look for ways to simplify, automate and improve finance processes during the move toward S/4HANA.

The ideal person will be commercially inquisitive, confident enough to challenge assumptions, comfortable working in ambiguity, resilient and self-directed. Strong relationship-building skills are important, as is a genuine interest in partnering across the wider business. A mindset focused on continuous improvement is essential.

Experience and technical capability

• Approximately 4+ years of experience in commercial finance, management accounting, FP&A or public practice.
• Strong analytical capability and confidence working with large, complex data sets.
• Excellent reconciliation skills and a disciplined approach to ensuring numbers are accurate.
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex models, Power Query, pivot tables and high-volume data work.
• Experience with SAP, S/4HANA, Power BI or similar tools would be beneficial, though not mandatory.
