Job description

About Cognitiv

Cognitiv is a pioneering AdTech company revolutionizing media buying through a Deep Learning Advertising Platform. Since 2015, we have applied advanced deep learning and data science technologies to transform how brands engage customers, delivering intelligence, accuracy, and scale in advertising.

Our platform allows advertisers great flexibility, including activating Dynamic Deals on preferred DSPs, using our managed DSP service, or leveraging our innovative ContextGPT solution. Joining Cognitiv means engaging with AI-driven advertising tools that lead the industry's growth and change.

Role Overview

We are seeking our inaugural Finance & AI Analyst to modernize finance operations by integrating AI and automation, transforming Finance into a proactive strategic partner. Utilizing next-generation ERP, a new order management system, and a growing data infrastructure, you will create automated reporting and analytical tools that enhance finance speed and intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create scalable AI-powered workflows and automations within Finance, enabling the team to focus on advisory roles rather than repetitive tasks.
  • Build pipelines and reporting systems from ERP, order management, and advertising platforms to deliver proactive financial insights ahead of month-end reports.
  • Ensure AI-generated insights undergo thorough human review and financial controls before executive presentation.
  • Develop on-demand reporting and analytics for real-time company performance tracking, including executive and board reports plus forward-looking analyses like product mix profitability.
  • Lead the annual budgeting cycle and maintain a multi-year financial model, collaborating with HR on workforce planning and compensation forecasts.
  • Manage weekly cash flow positioning and forecasting to support corporate finance and ensure liquidity management.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, strategic finance, or a similarly analytical finance field.
  • Strong proficiency in both finance principles and modern data tools: advanced SQL skills for working directly with data warehouses to build reports and proficiency in Python for automating workflows to enable reliable reporting.
  • Acurious mindset, delving beyond numbers to uncover underlying causes and discover unasked metrics for leadership.
  • Ability to frame strategic questions, design scenario analyses, communicate insights effectively, and serve as a critical human review alongside AI outputs.
  • Skilled in leveraging AI as a productivity enhancer for tasks including query drafting, debugging, automated reporting, and preliminary analysis, with sound judgment for human intervention when needed.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and modeling methodologies.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills translating complex data into actionable insights for business decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, adept with both finance teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • A proactive builder mindset, thriving in creating innovative processes, driving automation, and handling ownership in ambiguous, growing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or pursuit thereof.
  • Experience implementing or enhancing ERP or financial planning systems.
  • Prior work experience in high-growth AdTech companies.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $145,000 annually plus equity equity participation options. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans (US), extended health options (Canada), 12 weeks paid parental leave, 4 weeks work-from-home, unlimited paid time off, August work-from-anywhere eligibility, career advancement programs, equity across all employees, hybrid work with daily team lunches, health and wellness stipends, cell phone reimbursements, 401(k) and RRSP plans with company matching, parking and pre-tax commuter benefits at specified offices, employee assistance programs, thorough onboarding via Cognitiv University, among other perks.

Work Environment and Culture

  • Festiv: Engaging team activities and events for fun and creative bonding.
  • Responsiv: Close interaction with clients and leadership, making a real impact.
  • Inclusiv: Celebration of diversity and individuality at all levels.
  • Inventiv: Encouragement of curiosity and bold innovation.
