About the Role
We are looking for a capable Fiber Network Engineer to handle the design, deployment, upkeep, and troubleshooting of fiber optic network systems. The role involves supporting FTTH and enterprise fiber networks by ensuring high performance, reliable service, and swift resolution of fiber-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic network infrastructure.
- Perform fiber cable laying, splicing, termination, and conduct tests.
- Use OTDR testing, carry out power measurements, and locate faults efficiently.
- Support deployment of FTTH, GPON, and enterprise fiber network projects.
- Monitor network performance and promptly resolve outages affecting fiber networks.
- Conduct site surveys and develop detailed network deployment plans.
- Coordinate with field personnel, network operating center (NOC), and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Keep thorough network documentation, including fiber route maps and technical reports.
- Adhere to quality, safety, and operational standards consistently.
- Assist in network expansion and upgrade initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Networking, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
- 0 to 5 years of experience in ISP, Telecom, or Fiber Network operations.
- Strong grasp of Fiber Optics, FTTH, GPON, OSP, and ISP network infrastructure.
- Hands-on expertise in fiber splicing, OTDR, Power Meter use, and fusion splicing equipment.
- Understanding of TCP/IP protocols, LAN/WAN, routing, and switching fundamentals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience with GPON technologies along with OLT and ONT configuration.
- Knowledge of network documentation and management of fiber routes.
- Capability to manage onsite activities and coordinate with multiple teams effectively.
- Good communication skills with experience in customer interaction.
- Possession of a valid driving license is advantageous.
