Role Overview
APM Terminals is seeking an experienced warehouse operations executive to manage and coordinate day-to-day warehousing work. The role focuses on maintaining production, productivity, quality, and customer service benchmarks while keeping daily volume on track within required timelines. Success in this position means ensuring operations consistently meet or exceed performance goals and contribute to stronger overall business delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the processes for receiving and dispatching shipments.
- Allocate and track the day’s planned warehouse tasks.
- Review inventory and shipment records to ensure they are accurate.
- Drive customer satisfaction by making sure goods are received, identified, dispatched, and checked for quality properly.
- Assess warehouse output and employee performance, then report on results.
- Verify that shipment handling and stock transactions are recorded correctly.
- Set job expectations clearly and provide coaching to team members.
- Decide staffing needs and distribute workload appropriately.
- Work directly with customers to respond to queries and resolve issues.
- Keep item records updated, maintain essential documentation, and use reports to forecast warehouse status.
- Spot opportunities to improve operations and refine current processes and practices.
- Coordinate work with other departments as needed.
- Ensure storage and inventory areas remain clean, organized, and well maintained.
- Monitor warehouse associates to confirm safety procedures are followed while operating forklifts and other machinery.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with multiple priorities.
- Solid management capability.
- Leadership and planning skills to keep warehouse activities running efficiently.
- Working knowledge of inventory and/or invoicing software.
- Ability to stay on the warehouse floor for long stretches of time.
