About the Role
The FairPrice Group Supply Chain Business Unit, also known as Grocery Logistics of Singapore Pte Ltd, is a pivotal logistics service provider supporting NTUC FairPrice Group along with external clients. Their portfolio covers inbound logistics, warehousing, fulfillment, and last-mile delivery to stores and customers.
This role of Executive, Inventory & Flow Management is responsible for ensuring an optimal balance between product availability and cost-effectiveness across all fulfillment centers. By utilizing sophisticated replenishment tools and data-driven insights, the incumbent forecasts demand and controls procurement processes—both in ordering and stock transfers—championing the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction by ensuring products are timely and appropriately placed without jeopardizing inventory conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and refine short-term demand forecasts by analyzing critical market factors such as ongoing promotions, competitor activities, seasonal effects, and new trends.
- Oversee inventory replenishment by issuing purchase orders and stock transfer requests promptly to keep fulfillment centers adequately stocked and maintain high availability for customers.
- Enhance forecast precision and discipline in procurement by employing data analytics and advanced Excel-based models.
- Continuously track inventory health at specific sites to proactively address risks related to excess stock, outdated or expired items, and product freshness concerns.
- Maintain optimal metrics balance including Days of Supply and In-Stock Rates to maximize product availability while controlling holding expenses.
- Manage end-to-end order fulfillment processes across internal warehouses, local suppliers, and marketplace vendors to guarantee supply chain dependability.
- Incorporate factors such as supplier lead times, shipment schedules, and holiday periods into planning and procurement processes to avoid disruptions.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Between 1 to 3 years of experience in roles related to Supply and Demand Planning, Inventory Control, or Retail Operations.
- Preferably has experience in grocery retail or the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods industry, understanding its operational pace and market dynamics.
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on capabilities in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for data management, forecasting, and modeling operational scenarios.
- Experience with ERP software (such as SAP) and with Forecasting & Replenishment tools (examples include SAP FNR, RELEX, Blue Yonder) is advantageous.
- Strong analytical mindset adept at interpreting complex data, familiar with forecasting techniques, and key inventory metrics such as In-Stock rates, On-Time In-Full delivery, and Days on Hand.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and manage relationships with supply chain partners both upstream and downstream.
Work Arrangements and Location
This position is a 1-year contract role based onsite at Joo Koon with a hybrid work arrangement allowing a blend of onsite presence and remote work as applicable.
