About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a reputable and expanding main contractor based in Newcastle upon Tyne. This position offers a competitive salary range of £58,000 to £70,000 annually, along with pension benefits and real opportunities for career growth. The successful candidate will become part of a close-knit pre-construction team managing an array of diverse projects including commercial, residential, education, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing precise cost estimates and preparing tender submissions.
• Analyzing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to ensure accurate project pricing.
• Requesting, reviewing, and evaluating quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Collaborating closely with commercial and operational teams to align project goals and costs.
• Identifying risks, spotting opportunities, and implementing value engineering solutions to optimize project outcomes.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience as an estimator within a UK main contractor environment, preferably at a Tier 2 level.
• Proven ability to price projects within commercial, residential, education, or industrial sectors.
• Strong commercial insight coupled with excellent communication skills.
