With a history of over 30 years in Singapore and more than 200 employees locally, Pictet continues to grow its footprint in Asia.
We are looking to hire a meticulous and insightful Buy-Side Equity Analyst to be part of our Asia Equity Research team. This position involves conducting comprehensive fundamental analysis on a range of companies within Asian markets, primarily concentrating on industrial, energy, and consumer sectors, with some additional expertise in technology companies being advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform extensive fundamental research on companies, industries, and macroeconomic indicators to identify securities undervalued by the market, initially focusing on industrial and consumer sectors.
- Develop and sustain sophisticated financial models to project earnings and financial returns.
- Prepare investment memos and provide decisive investment recommendations to internal stakeholders, including portfolio managers and advisors.
- Carry out due diligence by conducting management interviews, participating in sector conferences, and liaising with sell-side analysts to collect exclusive insights.
- Design and implement AI-powered research tools and processes to enhance idea generation, pattern recognition, and the scalability and flexibility of fundamental research.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Possess a minimum of six years' experience in equity research on either the buy side or sell side, preferably with exposure across multiple sectors and prior experience at a top-tier financial institution.
- Demonstrate excellent proficiency in both spoken and written English (native-level or equivalent) and fluency in Mandarin, given the frequent need to interact with Chinese companies and Mandarin-language content.
- Exhibit strong fundamental equity research and analytical skills, including robust quantitative abilities (excluding purely quantitative modeling), and a methodical, first-principles-based approach to analysis and communication.
- Showcase exceptional written communication skills suitable for detailed investment memoranda and research notes, along with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Be highly proficient in Bloomberg terminal and its Excel API, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and possess solid competence in VBA programming.
- Display competent and effective use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar applications to boost research effectiveness, insight generation, and workflow efficiency.
- Have an independent, proactive, and accountable attitude with a strong sense of ownership, yet capable of functioning effectively within a team.
- Maintain a strong results-driven mindset focused on delivering high-quality, actionable research outputs within a demanding investment environment.
