Role Overview
The Ennis facility of Microchip Technology seeks a motivated Electro-Mechanical Technician to join its Maintenance team. This critical hands-on role supports high-volume manufacturing by ensuring the reliability, performance, and enhancement of automated production equipment. Working closely with technicians and cross-functional teams, you will deliver high-quality maintenance to sustain production efficiency and support engineering requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment while maintaining detailed records.
- Perform expert mechanical and electronic repairs, providing comprehensive electro-mechanical support.
- Oversee product changeovers on semiconductor testing, handling, and branding equipment to reduce downtime.
- Manage critical spare parts availability and inventory.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment malfunctions to maintain optimal production yield and throughput.
- Work collaboratively with Production and Engineering teams to diagnose and prevent recurring equipment issues.
- Maintain and repair automatic testers, handlers, branding machinery, electronic test systems, and associated mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Troubleshoot electrical subsystems including sensors, motor controllers, heating/drying elements, pneumatic systems, PLCs, and automation components.
- Conduct electronic repairs on test equipment including component-level circuit board work.
- Participate in the installation, commissioning, and procurement of new machinery.
- Execute basic facility maintenance tasks as needed.
- Maintain 6S housekeeping standards and ensure compliance with safety policies.
- Support seamless daily production demands and promptly respond to operational needs.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience as an electronic, equipment or machine maintenance technician within a high-volume production environment.
- Certification or diploma in Electro-Mechanical or related technical discipline.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools preferred.
- Experience servicing CE marked equipment.
- Flexible and adaptable work attitude.
