Role Summary

We are looking to hire a full-time Electrical Engineer based in Edmonton, Alberta, working in a hybrid capacity. The successful candidate will lead the design and analysis of intricate power systems, conduct various system studies, supervise electrical design and commissioning processes, and provide mentorship to junior engineers while collaborating across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
• Carry out studies such as power flow, short circuit, arc flash, and protection assessment.
• Develop technical specifications and devise protection schemes to ensure system safety and efficiency.
• Direct testing and commissioning activities for electrical installations.
• Guide junior engineering staff and foster cross-functional teamwork.
• Innovate and standardize engineering practices within the organization.
• Support the sales team by preparing detailed technical proposals.
• Perform root cause investigations and prepare comprehensive technical documentation.
• Coordinate activities involving printed circuit boards, mechanical systems, safety protocols, and manufacturing processes.

Candidate Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of five years’ professional experience working with power systems.
• Hold a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
• Familiarity with uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and operations within industrial plant environments.
