Job Overview

The Electrical Engineer will support the Engineering Project Manager in overseeing engineering tasks, such as deliverables, scheduling, and man-hour management, primarily focusing on multidisciplinary design activities. The role ensures compliance with company standards regarding quality, safety, and system requirements throughout project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing contract scope and work for topsides with subcontractors.
  • Prepare essential project documentation in line with project specifications.
  • Maintain control over project drawings and technical documentation across various disciplines.
  • Develop project schedules, resource forecasts, and pre-planning for engineering activities, ensuring alignment with the project budget.
  • Organize regular inter-discipline review meetings and coordinate interface checks.
  • Participate in project meetings, report progress, and address technical queries, including performance assessments of vendors and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate across customers, design subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and internal teams to coordinate plans and resolve technical issues for timely project delivery.

  • Track and follow up on design issues raised by discipline leads and report to Engineering Manager.
  • Facilitate timely information exchange required for design progression.
  • Monitor 3D model clash detections between disciplines.
  • Prepare weekly progress reports covering design status, concerns, pending items, clash and interface registers, resource availability, manhour usage, and action plans for management.
  • Lead and organize design review sessions internally and with external parties including clients.
  • Schedule and document meetings concerning design activities with external stakeholders.
  • Manage and update design punch and hold lists weekly, especially regarding external stakeholders and clients.
  • Support project planner with monthly and weekly design progress reporting to clients.
  • Assist Engineering and Commercial teams with variation orders pertinent to design.
  • Ensure all design activities meet scope and quality standards per the Project Quality Plan.
  • Coordinate with Construction and Commissioning teams to align design tasks with completion priorities.
  • Manage interfaces with class societies, regulatory bodies, and clients to ensure timely reviews and compliance.
  • Assist in project close-out activities including as-built documentation and engineering close-out reports.
  • Manage change control process, coordinating with discipline leads to ensure recorded changes are implemented.
  • Proactively identify potential changes to minimize unexpected delays and costs.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and third-party consultants to fully capture changes via the management of change (MOC) process.

Qualifications and Skills

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 5:15pm; Friday: 8:00am to 4:30pm.
