Driver Recruiter

Role Overview

The Driver Recruiter is tasked with sourcing, evaluating, and hiring qualified drivers for company fleet and owner-operator roles within both liquid and dry bulk transportation sectors. This position is vital in collaborating with terminal and hiring managers to meet fleet staffing demands and support customer requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and driven by results, with a dedication to recruiting and maintaining strong relationships in the transportation industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve or surpass monthly recruitment targets by actively sourcing drivers for company and owner-operator vacancies.
• Maintain persistent communication with all applicants, ensuring detailed records of contacts and application progress.
• Work closely with terminal managers to align recruitment initiatives with specific local fleet requirements and customer needs.
• Utilize the organization's hiring criteria alongside Department of Transportation (DOT) standards to evaluate driver candidates.
• Request and analyze Motor Vehicle Records (MVR), Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) reports, and confirm a decade of employment history for applicants.
• Arrange and oversee pre-employment drug testing and DOT physical examinations.
• Manage scheduling for driver orientation and onboarding procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Prior experience in recruiting CDL drivers or related transportation recruitment.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance standards in hiring processes.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications and applicant tracking systems.
• Preferred knowledge of Tenstreet recruiting software.
• Excellent telephone communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal abilities.
