Role Overview

The District Manager – Retail Cannabis position is a full-time role based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, combining on-site store visits with some remote work. The role is responsible for overseeing several retail outlets, guiding store managers and their teams to meet sales objectives, regulatory compliance, and deliver excellent customer service. Tasks include monitoring store performance, evaluating sales and operational reports, coaching managers, implementing merchandising and promotional plans, and ensuring adherence to cannabis regulations, internal policies, and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor store managers and retail teams across multiple locations to achieve sales targets and operational excellence.
• Analyze sales data and operational reports to identify trends and improve store performance.
• Ensure compliance with provincial cannabis regulations, company policies, and safety/security protocols.
• Develop and execute merchandising and promotional strategies aligned with company goals.
• Manage workforce planning, including scheduling oversight to optimize staffing.
• Address and resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and compliantly.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on district-wide projects and improvements.
• Travel between retail locations within Saskatoon and nearby areas as required and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Excellent communication abilities including verbal and written skills, active listening, and effective policy dissemination across locations.
• Strong customer service skills with experience fostering welcoming retail environments and resolving issues professionally.
• Proven leadership in managing, coaching, and developing store managers and teams in multi-location retail settings.
• Sales expertise with experience in revenue generation, sales data analysis, and strategy implementation.
• Background in regulated retail environments (such as cannabis, alcohol, pharmaceuticals) with a good knowledge of compliance, safety, and security practices.
• Proficiency in point-of-sale systems, inventory management, and basic data analysis using spreadsheets or reporting tools.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to coordinate store visits, reporting, and follow-up tasks efficiently.
• Ability to travel locally between stores and maintain a flexible working schedule.
• Prior experience as a multi-unit manager, district manager, or senior store manager in retail is highly desirable.
• Possession of or eligibility for provincial cannabis worker certification or retail licensing, coupled with a commitment to ongoing product and regulatory education.
