About the Role
The Director of Strategy & Growth Programs at Virgin Galactic will lead essential strategic initiatives and growth projects, combining visionary leadership with operational excellence. This role requires managing cross-functional efforts to establish impactful growth programs through a strategic and analytical approach, overseeing all phases from conception to execution, while collaborating closely with operational teams to ensure long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive high-impact growth initiatives through development and initial implementation stages.
- Develop a strategic framework to identify the most impactful growth opportunities by analyzing market trends and facilitating cross-functional ideation (e.g., pricing evolution, referrals, corporate partnerships).
- Refine program structures and create detailed action plans for each initiative.
- Monitor early execution outcomes closely, making adjustments to enhance commercial success.
- Lead major corporate strategic projects, including expansion plans such as future spaceport development.
- Contribute thought leadership in defining strategic models and frameworks.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to generate actionable insights.
- Ensure coordination and alignment across various functions for planning and successful execution.
- Present influential communications and reports to C-suite and Board stakeholders.
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams effectively in project management roles.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to foster inclusive ideation and accountability.
- Provide mentorship and oversight to direct reports.
- Exemplify executive leadership within the commercial team and develop team capabilities through coaching and training.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 8 years with a Master’s degree, in strategic planning, program development, performance enhancement, or related areas.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to leverage insights for action.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to influence and achieve results without direct authority.
- Exceptional leadership experience in managing teams to achieve high-level outcomes.
- Advanced interpersonal skills featuring relational and emotional intelligence.
- A proactive, innovative mindset with a strong drive to achieve tangible results and navigate ambiguous environments.
- Flexibility to adapt thinking and behaviors as needed.
- Ability to communicate timely, respectfully, and openly to others' ideas.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this full-time role within the U.S. is between $126,900 and $203,075 per year. Actual offered compensation will depend on expertise, skills, experience, and location, with consideration for internal equity. Additional pay forms, such as bonuses or long-term incentives, may supplement the package. Comprehensive medical, financial, and other benefits are provided based on the offered position.
