Overview
Our client, a rapidly expanding data centre developer and operator, seeks an experienced Regional Project Delivery Director to be stationed in Singapore. This leadership role will oversee the comprehensive delivery of large-scale data centre projects across multiple countries within the region as the company accelerates its expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of new data centre projects including both greenfield and brownfield developments, guiding phases from initiation to final handover.
- Establish program master schedules, project charters, and implement strong governance and delivery processes for each project.
- Build and coordinate high-performing teams by recruiting specialist consultants, technical experts, and contractors.
- Align project objectives with strategic business requirements, ensuring operational needs are appropriately addressed and executed.
- Handle financial aspects including capital funding requests, budget management, cash flow tracking, and expenditure control within approved limits.
- Lead procurement activities encompassing tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract awarding.
- Deliver accurate and timely progress and financial reports to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Utilize deep expertise in critical infrastructure systems like power generation, distribution, cooling, and controls for informed design and delivery decisions.
- Oversee daily construction operations ensuring safety, timeliness, and cost-efficiency.
- Research and introduce innovative technologies to enhance project delivery and operational efficiencies of completed facilities.
- Supervise all testing and commissioning stages (factory, site, integrated) for vital mechanical and electrical systems.
- Review and interpret multidisciplinary design and construction drawings (architectural, structural, M&E) to support scheduling and maintain quality standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to Environment, Health, and Safety regulations and compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
- Maintain strong communication and relationships with internal teams and external partners to facilitate issue resolution and stakeholder engagement.
- Promote a culture focused on quality assurance and continual improvement across project teams and delivery functions.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 10 years of relevant experience managing data centre projects or construction management, with documented success on large-scale infrastructure developments.
- Extensive background in data centres and infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, or related fields.
- Proven capability in leading diverse, cross-functional teams and handling multiple projects simultaneously in various locations.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including power, cooling, and control systems, plus expertise in construction sequencing and commissioning procedures.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Demonstrated commercial skills including budget oversight, cost control, tendering, and contract administration.
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal qualities including negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management; resilient and proactive under pressure.
- Willingness to travel regionally approximately 20 to 25 percent of the time.
