Role Overview
We are collaborating with a client to recruit a Data Engineer on a contract basis working remotely from any location. This role is pivotal in designing and enhancing data pipelines to facilitate seamless data exchange across systems. Your work will involve the creation, management, and optimization of data structures and databases to support analytics and business intelligence goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and sustain scalable data pipelines capable of ingesting, processing, and transforming extensive datasets.
- Construct and optimize data infrastructure that supports both real-time and batch-processing workflows.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and ensure they align with organizational objectives.
- Implement monitoring and quality assurance processes to maintain data accuracy and reliability.
- Investigate and resolve data pipeline issues, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, coupled with experience in data pipeline orchestration frameworks like Apache Airflow or comparable tools.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure and familiarity with data warehousing technologies like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Deep understanding of ETL workflows and data modeling methodologies.
- Knowledge of streaming data processing technologies such as Kafka or Spark Streaming is advantageous.
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote work environment demonstrating excellent problem-solving capabilities.
