About the Role
Join MetLife's Global Customer Service and Operations team, where delivering trust, empathy, and continuous improvement in customer care is our core mission. This position focuses on enhancing the claims process experience by supporting customers through claim evaluations and documentation, contributing to operational excellence across our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and manage incoming calls related to Group Life Insurance claims.
- Inspect submitted Group Life claims for completeness and accuracy, processing straightforward claims efficiently.
- Conduct peer reviews of claims prior to final payment to ensure accuracy.
- Examine incoming mail, faxes, and correspondence using the FEGLI claim system to verify ownership and status.
- Handle beneficiary designations and manual certifications, logging receipt dates into the claims system.
- Input new claims and update claim records following protocols and document criteria.
- Verify that claims have all necessary documents ready for review, such as certifications, death certificates, claim forms, beneficiary designations, and funeral assignments.
- Manage pending claims by placing them on future call lists if documentation is incomplete, and handle expired call communications.
- Generate automated and manually written correspondence to claimants and agencies as necessary.
- Maintain operational quality and production goals as per defined metrics.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong proficiency in data entry and computer usage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities and multitask effectively.
- Capable of handling confidential information with integrity.
- Demonstrates teamwork, organizational skills, and adherence to company values.
- Willingness to work overtime as required to meet deadlines.
- Preferred candidates possess an Associate's Degree and 1-2 years’ experience in insurance claims, especially Group Life claims.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary ranges between 41600 and 48900 dollars annually. Eligible employees may also receive annual short-term incentives and stock-based long-term rewards, subject to company plan terms.
