Team Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Operations Quality Engineer to join our team in Orlando, FL. This role involves hands-on collaboration with the operations team, offering daily quality support and yield enhancement for MicroVision-supplied products. The position requires active participation in IQC and FQC inspections and testing to ensure products meet the required engineering specifications and quality standards. Communication skills and strong problem-solving abilities are crucial.
Key Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing teams with fault detection and troubleshooting related to supplied products.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to investigate and analyze quality defects and non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and aid in 8D corrective actions.
- React promptly to quality concerns by enforcing containment procedures, including isolating and segregating non-compliant items and issuing Quality Alerts to mitigate risk.
- Conduct inspections and tests on defective components to verify compliance with engineering and customer specifications using precision tools.
- Assist with new product launches and process modifications by managing Change Requests and ensuring safe launch protocols.
- Contribute to Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) by developing PFMEA and Control Plans.
- Create and maintain procedural documentation and standard work instructions in line with the MicroVision Quality Management System.
- Monitor process capabilities and analyze quality metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze production data to find optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to lower defects and waste.
- Track key performance indicators including First Pass Yield (FPY), scrap rates, rework, Defective Parts Per Million (DPPM), and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in quality roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with AIAG standards such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans is advantageous.
