About the Role

Tesco is currently seeking Customer Delivery Drivers to join the team at Midleton Square, County Cork. This role places you as the initial point of contact and face for our valued customers, central to delivering outstanding home shopping experiences. Each day is dynamic, involving hands-on and varied responsibilities, granting you autonomy during deliveries, yet backed by managerial and team support at headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service, prioritizing customer satisfaction in every interaction.
• Assist in loading delivery vans as necessary and ensure vehicles are roadworthy.
• Comprehend and follow pre-arranged delivery routes and schedules effectively.
• Present a professional image by wearing the designated uniform and maintaining a helpful attitude.
• Operate vehicles responsibly, adhering to traffic laws and prioritizing safety.
• Exhibit courteous behavior toward other road users at all times.
• Greet customers warmly by name, promoting a personable service experience.
• Handle customers' goods with care, treating deliveries as if they were your own possessions.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a valid full Irish or EU driving licence (manual or automatic) held for at least two years with no more than three penalty points.
• Practice safe and considerate driving habits consistently.
• Enjoy assisting others and have a friendly, approachable demeanor with a good sense of humor.
• Demonstrate strong communication abilities.
• Show initiative and sound judgment in varied situations.
• Be committed to making a positive difference for customers and colleagues alike.
• Maintain composure and calmness under pressure.

Additional Note: Candidates must successfully pass the Garda Vetting process. Proof of current penalty points from the National Driver Licence Services (NDLS) is required at the assessment stage. Applicants disqualified from driving in the past 10 years are ineligible. Employment offers are contingent upon provision of bank account details prior to starting.
