Custodian

Overview

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining Gila County buildings and grounds in a clean and functional state. This includes executing a variety of custodial tasks across offices, hallways, restrooms, kitchens, courtrooms, entrances, parking areas, and other county-owned properties.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as mopping, vacuuming, power washing, dusting, buffing, waxing floors, window washing, emptying trash, shoveling snow, and stocking restrooms.
• Maintain all areas including Board of Supervisors Hearing Room, courtrooms, and county facilities.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous waste materials in compliance with health and safety protocols.
• Stay informed and comply with up-to-date regulations regarding cleaning chemicals and their applications as per County Health Department standards.
• Identify and report minor repair needs such as lighting, tables, faucets, and drains; complete custodial documentation and reports.
• Carry out special projects and participate in county recycling programs.
• Assist with managing custodial supply inventory and coordination.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks including changing light bulbs, assembling furniture, painting assistance, and dishwashing as needed.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the department.
