About The Role

Take an impactful role preserving and showcasing NSW’s sporting heritage as the Curator for the iconic NSW Hall of Champions, based onsite at Sydney Olympic Park. This part-time position offers 3 working days per week with a salary that reflects experience, ranging between $101,904 and $121,845 plus superannuation, paid pro rata for part-time engagement.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Oversee the care, management, and preservation of the Hall of Champions’ collection.
• Design, develop, and deliver exhibitions and displays that meet museum standards while engaging the public with NSW’s sporting history.
• Support and contribute to the planning and execution of the annual Hall of Champions Induction Ceremony.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to balance their interests and protect the integrity and accessibility of valuable historical artefacts.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven curatorial or museum experience, particularly in producing high-quality exhibitions adhering to museum standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities to clearly share concepts and work cooperatively with colleagues and partners.
• Excellent research skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to create accurate display content and biographical information about athletes.
• Effective organizational and time-management capabilities to meet deadlines and manage budgets.
• Confidence working autonomously and demonstrating sound judgment in decision-making.
• Deep understanding of museum collection management principles.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in museums, cultural heritage, or historical collection management.
• Current driver's license.
• Working with Children Check as mandated by the Child Protection Act 2012.
• Willingness and ability to work across multiple locations within Sydney Olympic Park.
