Role Overview

As a Medical Courier for Dynacare, you serve as a vital face of the company responsible for securely collecting and delivering medical specimens punctually, courteously, and respectfully. The timely and accurate transport of these samples directly affects patient care and treatment outcomes. This role not only allows you to influence healthcare positively but also offers daily schedule flexibility.

• Position Type: Permanent Full-Time (benefits eligible)
• Shifts: Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM to 5:15 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week
• Route: BSU02
• Department: Transportation
• Work Location: Elm Street 40, Greater Sudbury, ON

Primary Responsibilities

• Meticulously ensure all scheduled samples are collected timely for clients
• Dependably deliver medical reports and correspondence to all designated sites on your route
• Maintain professionalism as the company's representative, exhibiting courteous and informative communication
• Ensure the safety and security of the delivery vehicle at all times

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Positive attitude paired with a strong commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently while being reliable and punctual; capable of collaborating within a team
• Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean 3-year driving record
• Physically able to safely lift up to 30 pounds
• At least one year of experience in a commercial driving or courier position
• Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)

Working Conditions

• Lifting and transporting specimen bags, materials, and waste from multiple locations
• Frequent movement in and out of vehicles and buildings, including carrying loads on stairs
• Capability to manage weight up to 50 pounds and repetitive vehicle ingress/egress
• Handling body fluids and exposure to varying weather conditions including hot and cold temperatures
• Driving within city limits and highways, possibly including long-distance or rural routes, during day or night
• Adhering to safety regulations when handling TDG controlled goods

Compensation

Hourly wage ranges from $19.50 to $23.25, with final salary determined by experience and educational background.
