About the Company
Montage Commodities, headquartered in Dubai, is engaged in international commodity trading and project development with a focus on energy, petrochemicals, fertilizers, industrial infrastructure, and strategic investments in emerging markets. As part of its expansion into Africa, the company aims to establish a strong presence in Angola through this leadership position.
Role Overview
The Country Manager for Project Development will lead the establishment and management of Montage Commodities’ operations in Angola. The role encompasses identifying and advancing major strategic projects in energy and industrial sectors while cultivating robust partnerships with government bodies, state-owned enterprises, and private sector stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop investment projects across petrochemicals, refining, fertilizers, natural gas, power generation, and other related industrial infrastructure sectors.
- Drive projects from initial concept through feasibility assessments, commercial structuring, securing financing, and full execution.
- Design investment strategies leveraging Angola's natural resource potential and industrial growth prospects.
- Build and maintain strong relations with government ministries, regulatory authorities, national oil companies, utilities, and other strategic partners.
- Represent the company in negotiations, partnership dialogues, and significant commercial discussions.
- Identify opportunities for public-private partnerships (PPP) and joint ventures.
- Spot and develop marketing opportunities domestically and internationally for Angolan commodities and industrial products.
- Negotiate and structure commercial contracts, offtake agreements, and strategic partnerships with global buyers and investors.
- Support scaling Montage Commodities’ international trading activities based in Angola.
- Oversee due diligence processes including technical, legal, environmental, commercial, and financial analysis.
- Manage feasibility studies, project economic assessments, permitting, and obtaining investment approvals.
- Collaborate with engineering firms, financial entities, technical advisors, and partners to move projects toward Final Investment Decision (FID).
- Lead all business operations and corporate representation within Angola.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.
- Recruit, manage, and inspire a high-performing team while promoting a culture of integrity, accountability, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance or related field; a master's degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years of senior leadership experience in energy, petrochemicals, infrastructure, mining, or industrial project development sectors.
- Proven track record of handling large-scale industrial or energy projects from inception to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of Angola's regulatory environment, investment settings, and commercial landscape.
- Strong skills in engaging with government officials, state-owned enterprises, investors, financiers, and multinational companies.
- Expertise in commercial negotiations, project financing, joint ventures, and strategic partnership development.
- Fluent business-level English is mandatory; proficiency in Portuguese is highly advantageous.
