COR Operator

Role overview

The COR Operator is responsible for generating system codes, controlling remote access, and keeping security-related systems, alarms, and records updated and under control. The role also involves monitoring incidents, maintaining communication with stakeholders, and supporting the wider team with operational tasks.

Core duties

• Keep system information current so access codes can be issued correctly.
• Check and confirm details received from the relevant stakeholders before any code is released.
• Carry out the required security verification steps before issuing codes.
• Generate and provide system codes and manage remote access for assigned assets.
• Assist with ad hoc tasks assigned by the supervisor or line manager.

Monitoring and escalation

• Track systems and incidents according to assigned duties and follow the correct escalation path.
• Regularly confirm that systems are updating as they should and operating at the expected level.
• Spot and report SOP breaches, emergencies, and threats in line with escalation or emergency procedures.
• Validate alarm activity with third parties and take action based on approved procedures.
• Escalate alarm faults promptly and share status updates with the appropriate party.

Records, registers, and stakeholder support

• Log all breaches and faults, keep records up to date, and prepare the necessary reports.
• Maintain all required registers, including the occurrence book (OB).
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and keep those relationships effective.
• Raise system failures immediately with the relevant contact.
• Handle incoming stakeholder queries and route all centre-related transgressions to the supervisor.
• Maintain ongoing contact with centres regarding access control and alarm events.

RMC-specific duties

• Link the correct permissions to ATM Custodian profiles in the system.
• Confirm that assigned vehicles are visible and being tracked on the monitoring platform.
• Monitor SBV Fleet routes, service points, and timings, and report any vehicle that stops responding.
• Remotely activate the Vehicle Protection Unit on new-generation vehicles when escalation rules require it.
• Communicate with senior management during emergencies.
• Collect Early Warning Intelligence (EWI) and pass it to supervisors for escalation.
• Maintain the OTC system on an ad hoc basis when the Device Administrator is unavailable.
• Send updated site information to the Device Administrator after new sites are loaded.
• Manage risk profiles for each run from beginning to end and apply mitigation or disruption strategies where needed.
• Handle day-to-day online communication with relevant stakeholders about risks and threats affecting SBV.

COR-specific duties

• Provide centre staff with system battery combinations when KABA lock batteries need replacing.
• Support Security and Compliance Officers with weekly alarm testing and occurrence book entries.
• Monitor and review events to identify trends, record them in the OB, and brief the shift supervisor.

Requirements

• Internal applicants need 3 years of experience operating, administering, or monitoring access control systems such as CCTV if they have Grade 10, or 1 year of such experience if they have Grade 12.
• External applicants need 2 years of experience operating, administering, or monitoring access control systems such as CCTV, with at least 1 year in client-facing service.
• Call centre experience or client services experience is an advantage.
• Experience in logistics or the CIT industry is an advantage.
• Internal candidates may be considered with Grade 10, provided they have 3 years of control room experience.
• External candidates must have Grade 12.
• This is a permanent junior role.
• The salary is market related.
• EE status: No.
• Location: Houghton.
