Construction Manager - Interior Finishing

Overview

This role involves comprehensive planning to execution oversight focusing on interior finishing within construction projects. Responsibilities include ensuring timely delivery, adherence to safety and quality standards, and controlling costs in assigned project areas. Effective management of teams and collaboration with site Construction Management (CM) and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) teams is essential.

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Construction Manager to develop and refine project execution strategies centered on finishing works.
• Oversee interior and civil works for specialized projects such as sample flats/offices, clubhouses, entrance lobbies, infrastructure development, and finishing tasks within residential and commercial properties.
• Assign clear work responsibilities to team members to ensure effective task execution.
• Initiate work and material requests according to planned schedules and coordinate with central procurement to guarantee timely supplier and material availability.
• Conduct regular reviews of drawings, manpower allocation, safety measures, and quality assessments to identify critical factors influencing project progression, safety, and quality.
• Inform Construction Manager of significant contractor deficiencies and associated risks; propose appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain joint documentation for all critical and abortive tasks, preparing debit and credit notes regularly.
• Ensure timely submission and handling of Change Request Notes (CRNs) and ensure work completion.
• Manage strict quality controls, including inspections by CM team, preparation and enforcement of method statements and checklists onsite.
• Analyze Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) thoroughly and implement immediate corrective measures.

Preferred Experience and Attributes

• Proven track record working on villas, bungalows, clubhouses, lobbies, and interior finishing projects.
• Strong exposure to residential, hotel interior, and luxury projects.
• Competency in using appropriate project tracking tools for deliverables.
• Open-minded, capable of cooperating within dynamic teams, supportive of diverse ideas and opinions with a positive demeanor.
• Continuous awareness and updating on technological advancements relevant to construction.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should hold a Diploma in Civil Engineering, B.Tech, or B.E. degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Interior Design, accompanied by over 15 years of pertinent experience in real estate, hotel, or finishing contractor roles.
