Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Construction Foreman to join us full-time on-site in Hastings, Ontario. The role requires overseeing daily operations by coordinating crew activities, delegating tasks, and tracking progress across excavation, backfilling, driveways, lot clearing, retaining walls, and landscaping assignments. This position demands reading and interpreting construction plans, arranging materials and machinery, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and timelines, and maintaining high-quality standards. The Foreman will engage directly in construction tasks, communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and supervisors, and resolve on-site challenges promptly.

Candidate Qualifications

• Proven hands-on proficiency in construction-related tasks with leadership abilities to guide teams on-site by example.
• Experience operating heavy machinery safely and efficiently for excavation, grading, and site preparation.
• Strong quality control skills, including inspecting work, upholding standards, and addressing construction issues.
• Excellent communication to manage crew direction, contractor coordination, and reporting to management.
• Fundamental knowledge of civil engineering concepts concerning site layouts, drainage solutions, and structural requirements.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or foreman capacity overseeing construction or site projects.
• Commitment to upholding workplace safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, organize work sequences, and effectively manage multiple tasks regarding time and resources.
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation for travel to Hastings work locations.
• Minimum education of high school diploma or equivalent; additional trade certifications or technical training viewed favorably.
