Role Overview
Join Aon New Zealand as a Compliance and Audit Manager to play a pivotal role in advancing how the company manages risks and compliance. This position offers an opportunity to provide independent oversight and challenge existing processes to enhance the organization's compliance framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead line two compliance audits and monitor adherence across regulated operations.
- Evaluate control effectiveness, identify risks and gaps before escalation.
- Deliver insightful, actionable reports and recommendations to senior leadership and governance committees.
- Advise on compliance aspects of projects, products, and operational changes.
- Establish and maintain trustful relationships with internal teams and regulatory bodies.
- Serve as the privacy and data protection officer, managing related responsibilities.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of five years' experience in compliance, audit, or risk within the financial services sector.
- Deep knowledge of New Zealand's regulatory landscape, particularly related to financial advice.
- Strong attention to detail to identify risks, patterns, and systemic issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentation to senior stakeholders.
- Confidence to influence and challenge all business levels constructively.
Preferred Backgrounds
- Experience in insurance or insurance broking environments.
- Exposure to broader financial services sectors such as banking, wealth management, or advisory roles.
- Background in Big Four firms or consultancies focusing on audit, risk, or compliance.
