About the Team
The Community Safety Team at Coventry City Council is dedicated to promoting the safety and welfare of local residents. This team addresses issues such as crime prevention, anti-social behavior, and fostering community cohesion by working closely with partners, organizations, and residents. They aim to build trust and security throughout the community.
Role Overview
The position of Community Warden offers an opportunity to provide a visible, uniformed presence in the city that helps tackle anti-social behavior (ASB) and serious violence through focused patrols and targeted operations in areas with the greatest need. Community Wardens are a versatile and valuable resource that supports efforts to create thriving communities.
Responsibilities
As a Community Warden, you will actively patrol designated locations where current or emerging issues of ASB and serious violence have been identified. Your role includes engaging positively with community members, offering education, and enforcing regulations when necessary. Collaborating with key partners, you will support vulnerable individuals and contribute to the overall safety and wellbeing of residents.
Working Hours and Conditions
This role involves working shifts between 11am and 10pm, including weekends. These hours may be subject to future changes. Appointment is conditional upon a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) background check due to the role's exemption under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
