Role Overview
We seek an experienced communications professional to manage client accounts, oversee complex interdisciplinary programmes, and deliver impactful work that aligns with political, technical, and commercial realities. The position involves close collaboration with senior leadership and clients to orchestrate multifaceted initiatives spanning policy, communications, and science.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage workstreams and coordinate various specialists to maintain programme quality and progress.
- Develop and execute international media strategies that effectively present client positions to global audiences, especially translating African market initiatives for broader coverage.
- Maintain and nurture client relationships, applying sound judgement in decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive communications experience with proven ability managing multi-disciplinary programmes.
- Strong track record in international media relations, securing and shaping coverage in leading global outlets with keen editorial judgement.
- Substantial involvement in prominent climate and nature projects, notably including African contexts.
- Well-established networks within African media, policy, and business spheres developed over multiple years.
- Insightful understanding of how climate and nature narratives resonate within African political, media, and commercial environments and how to adapt these messages for international audiences.
- Robust programme management competencies, including governance, coordination, stakeholder engagement, and delivery.
- Proficiency and commitment to leveraging AI tools to enhance client outcomes.
- Exemplary judgement, clarity in communication, and the ability to work independently within a small senior team.
- Fluency in English at a professional level.
Working Conditions
This role is fully remote, operating within a team dispersed across Europe and Africa. Core working hours are 12:00 to 17:00 CET, and applicants must reside within three hours of this time zone. The arrangement accommodates both full-time and part-time engagements.
