Role overview

Black & Grey HR is hiring on behalf of a well-established technology solutions and services provider in Doha, Qatar. The position calls for a seasoned Cloud Architect to create and deploy secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud environments that can support ICT systems used in sports venues and large-scale events. The role requires practical expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, and performance tuning across Azure and/or Google Cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on Azure or Google Cloud for mission-critical applications in sports venue settings.
• Choose and set up cloud services for compute, networking, storage, and databases, while keeping performance, reliability, and cost in balance.
• Use Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) and Google Cloud Deployment Manager to automate infrastructure provisioning.
• Improve cloud environments so they stay scalable, highly available, and dependable during both event periods and regular operations.
• Apply robust security measures, including IAM setup, encryption practices, network segmentation, and alignment with compliance requirements.
• Follow relevant industry security standards and data privacy regulations applicable in Qatar and internationally.
• Create monitoring systems to measure cloud health, performance, usage, and cost trends.
• Diagnose infrastructure problems and address performance issues and reliability risks before they escalate.
• Automate routine operational and monitoring activities to improve efficiency and response speed.
• Keep clear documentation for architecture designs, configurations, workflows, and operational procedures.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 8 years of overall IT experience, including 6+ years in cloud architecture or a comparable role.
• Certification in at least two of the following is mandatory: Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect, Cloud Computing Professional (CCP), or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
• Proven background in designing and delivering cloud solutions on Azure, Google Cloud, and/or AWS.
• Strong understanding of enterprise cloud administration, virtualization, networking, and security best practices.
• Practical experience with Azure and Google native security tools, network services, and cloud automation frameworks.
• Ability to design cloud environments that are resilient, scalable, and optimized for cost.
