Job Overview

Join Novartis as a Clinical Research Associate based remotely in the UK, with a focus on London field force. This role drives clinical trials forward by fostering strong site partnerships and managing all site activities across Phase I-IV studies with a keen focus on quality, compliance, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main liaison between Novartis and clinical trial sites, nurturing collaborative relationships.
  • Oversee assigned clinical trial sites to ensure strict adherence to study protocols, monitoring plans, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct site initiation visits to train site personnel on study protocols and expectations, providing ongoing training for protocol amendments and new staff.
  • Execute both on-site and remote monitoring visits ensuring patient safety, data integrity, and protocol compliance.
  • Evaluate site performance proactively, identify risks, and deploy mitigation strategies for improved trial outcomes.
  • Spot process inefficiencies and partner with sites to enhance operational procedures.
  • Champion compliance with ethical standards, regulations, and data privacy throughout trial activities.
  • Foster strong relationships with sites to optimize patient recruitment and reduce operational hurdles.
  • Lead site closeout activities including ensuring follow-up actions are completed and documentation is properly archived.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field.
  • At least one year of experience in clinical research.
  • Solid understanding of clinical trial processes, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Council for Harmonisation (ICH) guidelines.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements from global and local health authorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with trial sites.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of juggling multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Analytical mindset with risk-based thinking to identify challenges and implement suitable solutions.
  • Fluent English proficiency, both written and spoken, along with the local UK language.

Preferred Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of drug development processes and clinical research methodologies.
  • Previous experience in monitoring or site management is highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected annual base salary for this position ranges from 32,690 to 60,710 GBP. Salary decisions are guided by merit-based criteria ensuring gender-neutrality and reviewed regularly.
