Position Summary
The Claims Support Specialist is tasked with managing and coordinating daily operations related to the handling of manual claims within the organization. This role involves close collaboration with Claims management and Examiners to ensure accuracy in processing manual claims and involves routine data entry responsibilities on weekly and monthly schedules.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with mail organization during high-volume periods
- Perform data entry for manual claims pertaining to specific groups
- Input data for various reports used by Claims and Operations Quality Teams
- Generate monthly progress reports for Claim Examiners
- Coordinate document scanning tasks as required
- Support audit preparation activities as necessary
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent certification (documented proof required)
- One to two years of office experience, preferably within the healthcare sector

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of working autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities
- Proactive in follow-up and ensuring task completion
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines within set timeframes
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information appropriately
Computer Proficiency
- Skilled in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The role operates in a moderate noise environment. The employee must occasionally lift or move items up to 20 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Regular activities include sitting, walking, speaking, hearing, manual handling, and occasional standing.
