Job Overview
Zahira College, Colombo, invites qualified civil engineering professionals to join their Maintenance Division as Civil Engineers. This role involves overseeing the college's infrastructure projects with a focus on construction, renovation, and upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise construction, renovation, and maintenance initiatives related to the college's facilities.
- Develop comprehensive project documentation including detailed reports, cost estimations, technical specifications, and design drawings.
- Ensure all projects adhere to relevant building codes, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with contractors, consultants, suppliers, authorities, and government bodies.
- Track project milestones, troubleshoot technical challenges, and guarantee projects meet deadlines.
- Keep thorough records of engineering activities and provide routine progress and technical updates.
Qualifications & Experience
- Possession of a BSc in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification validated by the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL), or a suitable foreign qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
- Must have achieved or be eligible for Associate Membership with IESL; Corporate Membership offers an advantage.
- At least five years of practical experience in civil engineering, building construction, infrastructure development, or related fields.
- Competence in AutoCAD, MS Project, and related engineering software tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with fluency in English; knowledge of Sinhala and Tamil is beneficial.
