Overview
Trees That Count is an environmental organisation dedicated to restoring Aotearoa through native tree planting. Working alongside business, government, and community partners, it is already producing measurable environmental outcomes and is now moving into a new stage of growth and capability building.
The organisation is hiring an experienced Chief Operating Officer to oversee everyday operations and turn strategy into action. This role reports to the Chief Executive and carries responsibility for performance across partnerships, marketing, product and technology, finance, and the nationwide planting programme.
What the role involves
You will provide broad operational leadership, convert strategic priorities into practical delivery, and help ensure the organisation achieves its growth and impact objectives. A key part of the role is leading a small, high-performing team in a remote-first setting while building a culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, and ongoing improvement.
This position suits someone who is hands-on, decisive, and able to work closely with their team to deliver strong outcomes.
