Overview
An infrastructure services firm backed by private equity is advancing an ambitious regional growth plan across the Southeastern United States. Positioned at a critical juncture, this company is preparing for mergers and acquisitions, with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) being a key player in laying foundational best practices and collaborating closely with the CEO on acquisition initiatives. This role offers remote work flexibility, prioritizing leadership capability over location, although occasional travel for leadership meetings and site visits within the U.S. is expected.
Role Details
The CFO will report directly to the CEO and assume comprehensive responsibility for all financial operations. These areas include project accounting, managing working capital, executing mergers and acquisitions, and handling investor-level reporting. The incumbent will design the financial systems and build the team necessary to support a disciplined buy-and-build growth strategy, ensuring the company is positioned for sustainable long-term expansion.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in construction, specialty trades, or other project-based industries; candidates without this sector experience will not be considered.
- At least 10 years of progressive executive leadership experience in finance.
- Expertise in project accounting, detailed job costing, and managing contract-related financials.
- Comprehensive mergers and acquisitions experience covering due diligence, financial modeling, and integration phases.
- Experience working in private equity-backed companies with an understanding of their stringent reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise accounting system upgrades or platform migrations.
