Role Overview and Responsibilities
We seek an experienced professional skilled in enterprise Content Delivery Network (CDN) platforms to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge handling platforms like Akamai, with additional familiarity in Cloudflare considered advantageous.
The position involves creating, implementing, and optimizing custom Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules and effectively managing rule sets. You will design and manage bot mitigation configurations, including scoring thresholds and response actions such as challenges or blocks.
Developing and applying robust Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) defense strategies against both volumetric and application-level attacks is a vital part of the role. Additionally, you will establish and sustain policies encompassing rate limiting, IP reputation tracking, and client fingerprinting to prevent credential misuse, data scraping, unauthorized access, and API exploitation.
The role requires close collaboration with CDN and security vendors for threat investigations, enhancing platform functionalities, and overseeing contractual and service level agreements. Vigilance in conducting vulnerability evaluations and responding swiftly to security incidents is essential.
Ensuring secure management of privileged access based on least-privilege principles, along with implementing identity protection measures across multi-cloud environments, rounds out the responsibilities.
