Job description

Role Overview

The CDC Ambassador position is focused on supporting Community Development Councils (CDCs) to onboard heartland merchants and hawkers onto the CDC Vouchers Scheme. This national initiative involves close collaboration with merchants and hawkers, addressing their questions and resolving any technical or operational challenges that arise. Additionally, the Ambassador will engage with other activities related to the CDC Vouchers Scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist CDCs and Community Centres/Clubs in outreach and engagement efforts targeting heartland merchants and hawkers.
  • Encourage merchants and hawkers to enroll in the CDC Vouchers Scheme and promote the program through their social media platforms.
  • Provide necessary training and knowledge support during merchants' and hawkers' onboarding to the scheme.
  • Troubleshoot basic IT device issues faced by merchants, hawkers, and residents.
  • Act as the communication liaison for merchants, hawkers, and residents to address enquiries and collect feedback about the scheme.
  • Collect data and personal stories through engagement and surveys for reporting and analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with government agencies and community partners, including merchants’ and hawkers’ associations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned outside the primary responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, capable of managing enquiries from hawkers, merchants, and residents, with familiarity in basic smartphone and e-payment usage.
  • Multilingual abilities or dialect proficiency is beneficial.
  • Proactive, persuasive, and resourceful mindset.
  • Physically able to undertake outdoor engagement activities, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Genuinely motivated to support local heartland hawkers, merchants, and non-tech-savvy residents.
  • Capable of working autonomously to achieve scheme targets.
  • Collaborative team player with strong relationship-building skills.
