Position Details

• Job Title: Labourer
• Start Date: Immediate and flexible
• Employment Type: Casual, on-call
• Working Hours: Up to 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with moving furniture and equipment within the school district.
• Perform repairs on chairs, tables, and other furniture as needed.
• Support drainage and septic tile installation tasks.
• Operate grounds vehicles and trailers safely.
• Dig, clean, and fill ditches appropriately.
• Cut and trim grass, ensuring the area is clear of hazards such as rocks and bottles beforehand.
• Mix, transport, and pour cement for various projects.
• Provide assistance to roofing personnel as required.
• Operate trade-related tools and equipment competently.
• Respond to emergency requests when needed.
• Conduct daily inspections and operate a service vehicle responsibly.
• Carry out other duties within the scope of the role's knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum completion of Grade 10 education.
• At least one year of related work experience.
• Possession of a valid British Columbia Driver's License.
• Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions accurately.
• Effective communication skills, demonstrating courtesy and tact when exchanging information.
• Good judgment in applying defined methods and procedures.
• Physical capability to perform assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
