Canvasser

Role overview

The canvasser will help drive membership growth by increasing sales within assigned geographic areas and supporting the club’s overall sales targets. This position focuses on promoting membership value, handling renewals and upgrades, and assisting during club opening activities and promotional events.

Key responsibilities

• Sell and renew Diamond and Business memberships while clearly presenting the benefits of joining and staying current.
• Coordinate and help run membership sales events.
• Encourage members to move to higher membership tiers.
• Assist in boosting membership sales during club opening periods.
• Complete the paperwork required for promotional events.
• Enter new member details into the system.
• Count cash collected, complete transaction logs, and keep records accurate.
• Process manual credit card payments electronically.
• Submit completed documents to a manager or supervisor for verification before vault deposit.
• Prepare and review departmental reports as needed.
• Create visit schedules, book appointments for new sign-ups and renewals, and follow up with potential members.
• Support the club’s sales and profit growth objectives.

Education and experience

A high school diploma is required, and a degree is preferred. The role calls for at least two years of experience in a similar position, ideally within a retail setting.

Skills and knowledge

Strong communication, teamwork, customer service, numerical ability, and English fluency are important for success. Familiarity with Windows-based systems and AS400 is also needed.

Additional requirements

A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation are required.

Working arrangement

This is a part-time, onsite role based in Montego Bay, Saint James, Jamaica.
