Role overview
This role is focused on creating accurate 3D CAD designs for complete pump and compressor packages, along with auxiliary support systems and mechanical parts, including sub-assemblies, for the Sundyne product lines. The position also involves producing fabrication and assembly drawings and handling changes to existing engineering drawings. You will be working across several projects at the same time in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
Key responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D CAD models for individual components and full skid assemblies using customer requirements as well as internal and client standards.
- Work with assembly layouts, fabrication details, weld maps, GD&T, piping and routing, component creation, template models, family member parts, and P&IDs in UG NX.
- Design mechanical components used in the build and operation of high-speed centrifugal compressors.
- Prepare vendor drawings and fabrication/assembly drawings with the required level of detail.
- Update existing drawings by processing engineering changes.
- Model new vendor parts whenever needed.
- Manage and support several projects at the same time.
Required qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of experience in mechanical design is preferred.
- An associate degree in a related field is preferred.
- Strong ability in 3D CAD modeling.
- Capability to produce part drawings and assembly drawings for mechanical components.
- Working knowledge of GD&T and how it affects manufacturing.
- Experience with Siemens NX is advantageous, and training can be provided to the right candidate.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as GD&T, API, ASME, and NACE is an added advantage.
- Self-driven and well organized.
- Practical understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing practices.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens NX.
