Cable Technician

Role Overview

The Cable Technician plays a critical role in ensuring timely delivery of equipment as per the operational needs, focusing on enhancing maintenance efficiency and reducing nonproductive time of assets within the Maintenance Base (MB).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform wireline cable maintenance and spooling tasks, requiring proficiency in mechanical lifting.
• Maintain allocated equipment in line with maintenance programs and reliability-centered maintenance strategies, utilizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System and adhering to standard operating procedures.
• Accurately record materials, labor, equipment maintenance history, including movements and work orders, in Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) systems following transactional discipline.
• Follow TLM Product Line standards diligently.
• Engage actively in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at boosting asset utilization and lowering the cost of service delivery (CoSD).
• Contribute to efforts that reduce asset turnaround time by minimizing downtime, streamlining repairs, and optimizing work-in-process.
• Support productivity enhancements for Maintenance Technicians through continuous improvement projects.
• Implement CoSD projects focused on planned repair and reutilization of parts.
• Participate in assigned failure investigations to assist root cause analysis.
• Comply with the TLM Competency Management System requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

The role requires candidates to have between 5 to 10 years of experience, preferably in oil and gas sector (Wireline) maintenance or relevant field experience, with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
