About the Role
Apollo Health and Beauty Care is recruiting an experienced Buyer responsible for procuring cost-effective, quality chemicals and components to support company supply objectives. This role requires close collaboration with various departments to ensure timely sourcing and replenishment while maintaining high supplier and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Development and R&D teams to source chemicals, fragrances, aerosols, and components.
- Ensure prompt internal and external follow-ups to secure adequate materials at optimal pricing while meeting quality standards.
- Partner with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to identify sourcing opportunities for frequently used products and services.
- Create and monitor Purchase Orders, updating ETAs within the Syspro system.
- Manage product sample requests related to new product development and strategic sourcing projects.
- Identify opportunities to lower total cost of ownership through price negotiation, minimum order quantity adjustments, or cost-in-use improvements.
- Communicate cross-functionally regarding raw material needs for new product launches.
- Reduce excess and obsolete inventory through intelligent purchasing and inventory control.
- Participate in regular team meetings to update material status and mitigate production risks.
- Coordinate with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and support teams to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Comply with vendor requirements in collaboration with R&D and Regulatory departments.
- Provide coverage as needed for other team members.
- Complete additional duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of relevant procurement experience.
- Experience with liquid fill components preferred.
- Pharmaceutical industry background considered advantageous.
- University degree in a relevant discipline required.
- Specialized training or regulatory certifications are assets.
- SCMP designation is a plus.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with online sourcing and procurement platforms.
