Role overview

EY is looking for an Assistant Manager in Business Modelling to support transaction, financing, and operational decisions for clients. The role focuses on building and reviewing financial models that help decision-makers evaluate complex corporate finance outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engagement teams and contribute to the delivery of Business Modelling services for clients making strategic business decisions.
• Translate client needs into structured financial models that support corporate finance decision-making.
• Work on modelling assignments related to mergers and acquisitions, project feasibility studies, corporate and debt restructuring, valuation, and corporate strategy.
• Spot issues in the process or model design and recommend practical ways to address them.
• Keep learning continuously, share knowledge with others, and help mentor team members.
• Own assigned projects while coordinating closely with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong, professional client relationships that support repeat business.

Preferred candidate profile

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in constructing and reviewing sophisticated financial models using MS Excel, VBA, Power Query, Power BI, and Python. A postgraduate background in Finance, Economics, Accounting (CA), or Business is preferred, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Direct experience of 5 years or more in financial modelling is required, including work on dynamic dashboards or automated corporate strategy solutions using tools such as Power BI, Power Query, Alteryx, or Python, as well as valuation or corporate finance work in an organization.

Additional exposure to industries such as Industrials and Automotive, Consumer Product and Retail, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Private Equity, Wealth and Asset Management, or Banking and Capital Markets will be considered an advantage.

Strong analytical thinking, project management, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are important. The role also requires the ability to manage work within budget and timelines while delivering high-quality output in a fast-moving environment.

Progress toward CFA, FRM, PRM, or PMP certification is a plus, and completion of one such designation is expected within the stated timeframe.
