About the Position
Join a meaningful career with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) in Wellington as a Business Advisor within Immigration New Zealand's Associate Deputy Secretary Immigration branch. In this role, you will support the Ministerial and Accountability Services team by overseeing the management of machinery of government processes and providing senior officials and Ministers with accurate, objective, and timely advice and analysis for ministerial reporting and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support machinery of government requirements across the Immigration New Zealand branch.
- Collaborate widely to identify opportunities for process improvements and enhance business practices.
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated understanding and experience with machinery of government principles within the public sector.
- Technical knowledge of machinery of government frameworks.
- Ability to plan and deliver significant projects or key business tasks.
- Proven success in building and managing strong working relationships.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing workload independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
Additional Information
This is a permanent, full-time position located in Wellington. MBIE offers flexible working arrangements and encourages discussion on options that suit both employee and employer.

Salary: The salary range for this role is $75,114 to $88,266 per annum, including KiwiSaver and wellness benefits.
