About the Company and Role
BioPharma Services Inc., located in North York, Toronto, seeks a Bioanalytical Chemist to join their team full-time. Under supervision from the Departmental Manager, this role entails conducting method validation and biostudy analyses while diligently adhering to all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to deliver precise analytical test results.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing method validation and biostudy analytical tasks in line with SOPs.
- Operating and understanding analytical laboratory instruments common to bioanalytical labs such as sample preparation tools, general laboratory apparatus, and LC-MS/MS systems.
- Collaborating within a team environment with an emphasis on meeting project deadlines.
- Assisting in project planning and coordination to handle shifting priorities effectively.
- Generating comprehensive method procedures, validation and re-validation documentation, analytical results, and reports for regulatory submissions.
- Coordinating activities with Laboratory Management to ensure achievement of goals.
- Innovating to support resolution of bioanalytical and laboratory process issues.
- Providing support for troubleshooting and upkeep of laboratory equipment.
- Reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures as required.
- Exhibiting excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Working cost-effectively and maintaining accurate data compilation and archiving of study and validation information.
- Adhering strictly to approved protocols and compliance requirements including GLP (OECD), EMA, ICH, FDA, and TPD standards.
- Maintaining safe working conditions and following all relevant safety protocols.
- Displaying professionalism, good interpersonal skills, and commitment to quality output.
- Executing additional duties as assigned by management.
- Specifically for GLP and Non-GLP studies: ensuring compliance with all applicable standards, promptly documenting any deviations for Principal Investigator or Study Director, accurately recording raw data according to OECD GLP Principles, and following health precautions to protect self and study integrity.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Analytical Chemistry or a related discipline.
- Between 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a bioanalytical laboratory setting.
