Role Overview

The Bid Writer will play a crucial role in preparing meticulous, compelling, and fully compliant bid submissions. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop tailored tender documents that highlight our technical expertise, project methodologies, and commitment to quality, thereby enhancing Sisk's market competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compose, assemble, and structure bid documents specifically for civil construction projects, ensuring inclusion of all necessary components aligned with client requirements and tender specifications.
  • Customize bid content according to the project's unique demands including timelines, cost estimates, methodologies, and quality assurances.
  • Guarantee that all tender submissions comply with legal, regulatory, and client-mandated technical standards.
  • Work alongside project managers, engineers, estimators, and other teams to gather accurate and current project data.
  • Conduct research on project factors such as site conditions, scope, and client preferences to optimize bid quality.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, market pricing, and competitor strategies to enhance bid effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations, pricing, and technical details required for bid preparation.
  • Facilitate effective communication among all departments involved to ensure consistency and accuracy throughout the bid process.
  • Review bids for clarity, coherence, and adherence to tender requirements, ensuring alignment with the company’s portrayal as a reliable and competitive contractor.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience as a Bid Writer within infrastructure or construction technical writing environments.
  • Background in construction or civil engineering with a solid understanding of tender processes and project data compilation.
  • Demonstrated effective collaboration with engineers, estimators, and project managers in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to produce precise, clear, and high-quality written materials within tight deadlines.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in fields such as journalism, English, or creative writing.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and technical communication abilities with competence in translating complex concepts into persuasive and accessible content.
  • Strong organizational aptitude with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Robust research and analytical capabilities to interpret technical and project-specific data.
