Position overview
AWO Saarland is looking for a department lead for the area focused on migration and diversity in Saarbrücken. The role starts immediately and is initially limited on a project basis until 31 December 2026. The position is part-time with 29.63 hours per week and follows TV AWO Saarland pay scale EG 10.
Key duties
- You will oversee the projects in the department both in terms of content and day-to-day organization, with particular focus on immigration, democratic participation, and the prevention of extremism.
- The role includes coordination work within social counselling for people who have moved to Germany from Eastern Europe.
- You will maintain and develop networks with ministries, public offices, authorities, working groups, and support organizations.
- Another part of the job is developing concepts, applying for funding, and defining as well as reviewing goals.
- You will prepare documentation, write progress reports, and compile financial usage statements.
- The position also carries responsibility for personnel supervision and coordination.
What we are looking for
- A degree in cultural studies, educational sciences, or a comparable qualification is expected.
- Solid subject knowledge in the field of migration, especially forced displacement and migration, is required.
- Strong assertiveness and proven leadership experience are mandatory.
- Experience in networking, a confident communication style, and commercial awareness are important for this role.
- You should bring a respectful and appreciative attitude in your daily work.
- We are looking for someone who is highly organized, works in a structured way, adapts flexibly, and can take initiative independently.
Conditions and application notes
The employment is governed by TV AWO Saarland EG 10 and is project-related, fixed term until 31 December 2026.
