Overview

We are partnering with a prestigious client based in Bangalore (Whitefield) to onboard a skilled Azure DevOps Engineer. This is a contract-to-hire position that demands 7+ years of experience and offers a hybrid work mode. Candidates with quick joining timelines (0-30 days notice) are preferred.

Role Purpose

The Azure DevOps Engineer will architect, develop, and maintain DevOps pipelines to facilitate the migration of services from Azure IaaS to Azure PaaS. The focus is on creating efficient, secure, and consistent build and deployment automation, enhancing delivery speed, reliability, and operational resilience of cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

Design and sustain Azure DevOps pipelines for build, test, release, and deployment processes supporting service migration from IaaS to PaaS.
Create and maintain YAML-based CI/CD workflows covering applications, integrations, and infrastructure.
Assist migration teams in shifting from VM-based or manual deployments to fully automated platform-managed systems.
Configure secure deployment credentials, managed identities, service connections, and secrets management for internal and external integration.
Enable interoperability between Azure environments and external systems such as APIs, on-premises platforms, or services across Azure tenants.
Establish release quality controls including approval gates, automated tests, rollback procedures, and environment promotion steps.
Collaborate with architects, developers, and service owners to align pipelines with operational and design requirements.
Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to pipelines, deployments, configurations, and integrations across various environments.
Document pipeline architectures, release protocols, deployment standards, support procedures, and best DevOps practices.

Required Skills and Experience

Extensive hands-on experience with Azure DevOps tools such as Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, and environment management.
Proven ability to implement CI/CD pipelines for cloud applications hosted on Azure.
Experience in migrating and modernizing services from Azure IaaS VMs to Azure PaaS platforms.
Skilled in integrating Azure-hosted services with external systems, including APIs, hybrid cloud connectivity, and cross-tenant solutions.
Solid understanding of Azure services, including identity/access management, Azure Key Vault, managed identities, and secure authentication mechanisms.
Proficient in scripting languages like PowerShell and Bash for automation tasks.
Knowledgeable in release governance, automated testing frameworks, deployment reliability, and monitoring.
Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude spanning build, release, infrastructure, and integration challenges.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills enabling collaboration across various stakeholders.
