Role Summary

The Associate will gain comprehensive experience in the full investment lifecycle, working on sourcing, evaluating, executing, and monitoring private equity deals. Key Responsibilities

• Assist with due diligence on direct, co-investment, and fund investment opportunities.
• Develop and update financial models for valuation and return analysis.
• Prepare investment memorandums and materials for committee review.
• Carry out research on industries, companies, and markets to support investment theses.
• Evaluate deal structuring options and implications.
• Manage financial and operational monitoring of portfolio companies and funds.
• Support periodic valuations, performance analysis, and reporting for existing investments.
• Explore financing alternatives and follow-on investment opportunities through modeling.
• Conduct research and analysis related to investment themes, sectors, and structures.
• Contribute to internal initiatives such as process improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders in legal, tax, and operations during deal execution.

Qualifications and Skills

• 2 to 4 years of experience in investment banking or private equity.
• A university degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline with strong academic results.
• Solid skills in financial modeling, business analysis, and thorough due diligence practices.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with Capital IQ, Bloomberg, or similar data platforms is advantageous.
• Experience leveraging artificial intelligence tools to enhance financial analysis, data synthesis, and productivity.
• Excellent communication and writing capabilities with the ability to clearly distill complex information.
• Inquisitive nature, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
• High ethical standards, professionalism, and strong collaboration skills.

Employment Details and Compensation

This is a full-time contract role for a duration of 18 months, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The expected annual base salary is between $98,000 and $148,000 CAD, with actual compensation depending on experience and qualifications.
